Crop Walk

Crop Walk

The Annual CROP Hunger Walk was held in Grand Junction on Saturday, September 24, 2011.  The local organizations that will receive financial support are The Agape Food Basket in Fruita, Child and Migrant Services in Palisade, The Community Food Bank in Grand Junction and Grand Valley Catholic Outreach.    The final total of funds raised at this year's walk is:  $5,323.00  We are so grateful for the generosity of our local walkers and sponsors.  You are alleviating poverty around the world by walking with us every year.  In our efforts, we particularly honor those around the world who walk every day just to have water for their daily needs including drinking, food preparation, and basic cleanliness.

2012 CROP Hunger Walk

Are you aware that the CROP Hunger Walk was the very first fundraising walk to take place in the United States?  The Grand Valley Interfaith Network (GVIN), in cooperation with international sponsor Church World Service, has sponsored this walk in our community for 25 years.  Plans are already in the works for next year's walk and volunteers are always welcome to help plan, coordinate walkers at various organizations, set up and clean up the day of the walk, make phone calls, give presentations, walk, and donate monies.  For more information about next year's walk, please contact GVIN Member, Noreen Alexander, at Sacred Heart Church in Fruita at 970.858.9605.
